    wii not recognizing usb drive

    hello! i just got a new red wii for christmas which i promptly softmodded. unfortunatly, it seems i have screwed up somewhere because i cant seem to get my wii to recognize my 8gb sandisk cruzer flash drive. when i run configurable usb loader it simply times out. any thoughts or suggestions? thanks in advance.

    Format drive to Fat32 and use Wii Backup Manager to put games on it. BTW should of posted in the introduce section first.

    Now, if I formatted my usb device to FAT32 then it would not be recognized by my version of CFG without further adjustments. Maybe that is not the answer to the problem. The OP needs to provide more information.

    sorry its been a bit since the original post. anyway i went through that guide, and i still cants seem to figure this out. how do i know what cios i have/need? here is the info i know. its a red wii softmodded using maulfrogs guide. im trying to use configurable usb loader, and its just keeps timing out with "ERROR! (ret= -1) MAke sure usb port 0 is used! (the one nearest to the edge)"

    cIOS38 rev17 or lower will not work with a FAT32 or NTFS formatted HDD. You still have not stated what format your USB HDD is.

    my apologies its actually a 8 g thumb drive formatted to fat32
    EDIT: also tried with it formatted to wbfs

    Have you tried to use WBFS manager to format the USB stick to WBFS format?

    If you would like to go with FAT32 format then get CFG v62 from here, then replace the boot.dol with the 222 version of the boot.dol from here, you need to rename this download to boot.dol. Then copy the entire contents to your SD card. You will need Hermes IOS222 v4 installed for this.

    ok so i decided to stick with fat32. unfortunately though, this didnt work. im pretty sure that i have hermes 222 v4 installed, but i dont think its the one i am currently using. i dont know if that makes sense sorry im still so new to this... thanks for all your help
