Open the sd slot cover and make sure there aren't any foreign objects. Take a flashlight and check if all the pins are straight.

Just because I don't know the answer doesn't mean you should give up. This is going to eat me up until I know the answer.

I used to work at the Help Desk at a university when I was in high school, and my boss and coworkers would exploit my obsession. If there was something they couldn't figure out, but didn't want to research, they would casually mention it to me. I would spend my lunch breaks and all my time after work researching until I found a solution (or knew that there wasn't one).

When I have seizures, I usually forget the past week's events. The only benefit to this was that I would forget my obsessions.

    Everything seems fine.

FAT32, quick format unchecked. However I am going to try to format my SD card on another computer, the reader on my laptop acts strange (sometimes it tells me the cards are write protected when they clearly aren't).

And I totally understand what you mean. On another forum I'm the one giving advice and helping others and I just hate it when I have to say "I don't know the solution". Problem solving is usually what I do best, but this one seems different. I did things I didn't fully understand and this is where it got me.

The weird thing with what we are trying to accomplish (get bootmii to work) is that if it loads from the SD card, well the issue seems to be fixed. If it ever works I'm still going to do a nand restore but it wouldn't really be required, wouldn't it?

Try FAT next time, then run Check Disk on it.

Holy crap it worked. Well bootmii didn't, but the card was detected by the wii even with bootmii on it. So I tried to put the smashstacks on the card and yes, it was still detected by the wii! I can start the 4.3 softmodding tutorial again to get everything up to date and in order.

I'll be on my own for now, HUGE thanks to you! To be honest I feel really silly right now. Seems like FAT32 was the culprit, which is weird. Or maybe it was my laptop's card reader.

JoostinOnline, if you ever need $5-10 on paypal just drop me a private message.

    Oh, and happy new year!

Hi, I have exactly the same problem, I launched a question the other day.

"There is nothing in the SD slot".

Mine is definatley not a hardware problem. It developed suddenly whilst trying to resolve USB loader problems with IOS249, which had stubbed for some reason. I was running Goldeneye and MotoGP 08 for the first time [which didn't run]. I resolved the USB problem using DOP Mii and WAD installers and then the SD card slot packed up. Currently running Apps off rear top USB slot.

Anybody know of what drives the SD card, and IOS I could remove and re-install?

    Something odd....

cIOS249 didn't just suddenly become stubbed you must've updated your Wii. What system menu are you currently on? Bannerbomb doesn't work with SM 4.3 and you will get that error when attempting to bannerbomb into an app. Does HBC recognize the the apps on your SD card?

I am running 4.2 installed through Hackmii. I did re-install it during the process of trying to solve the IOS429 problem.
I also up reved IOS249 to verison V21, which I think is when the Configurable USB loader wouldn't start.
In relation to the top of the thread I did also run the new Donkey Kong game which fired up no problem.
I clocked the stub issue when looking at DOP Mii and researching/learning what was going on.
I cleared the stubs and re-installed WAD files including IOS249 version 19.
After sorting the above the SD card doesn't get detected.
HBC doesn't recognise the SD card or the Wii system menu.
Also a system update to 4.3 is a no go from the Wii system menu settings.
    I written over something somewhere?
    Hey it still plays games!
    Any help, most appreciated.
