Update softmodded 4.2 wii to 4.3 question.

Getting on to the concern here:
I am currently running 4.2u wii system menu and I have already softmodded it with USB loader, homebrew and all that good stuff. Some of the games are asking me to update to 4.3 and I just ignore it. It has been working.
I got a hold of Black Ops and I want to play it online. However, it is asking me to update to 4.3 in order for me to do this.
I just wanted to ask if there is an alternative way of playing this online without updating to 4.3. To my knowledge, I could brick the Wii by updating it; being it already softmodded, I would have to go through a whole bunch of installing/uninstalling de-modding and returning my Wii as close to factory setting as possible. Along with my brothers, we have installed a lot of stuff and apps and we are just not sure we are going to do everything correctly.
So any help, links, pictures or whatever is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
