Super Smash Bros Brawl Transfer Issue

    What up, everybody?

I have recently softmodded my 4.3U wii. Using CFG USB Loader, I added games to a hard drive. Before I bought the hdd, I was using a flash drive (a PNY 16gb). The only game on it was Super Smash Bros Brawl (game played fine), and the flash drive was formatted FAT32 with a wbfs folder. I cannot get it to transfer to my hard drive's (a WD mybook 1tb) WBFS partition. I have about 8 games on it that I ripped through the wii or transfered using Wii Backup Manager.

    So far, I have tried:
    • Transfer from flash drive to hdd
    • Transfer from flash drive to ISO on computer
    • Transfer from old hard drive (Maxtor 100gb) to new WD hdd

--all say complete after about 90 mins, show game title in red below, game not shown on WD hard drive--

I was able to successfully copy/paste from the flash drive to a wbfs folder on my computer, but transferring from this to the WD hdd fails like all the others do above

I have the game disc. Ripping it from the wii to the WD hdd seems to go fine, but CFG USB loader freezes at points during the transfer (i've had it freeze at 2%, 22%, and 65% or so). It made it to 65% after I updated the loader to the newest version and dumped the BCA.

If you know how to make CFG loader stop freezing during the game install, that'd fix my problem. But my problem may also be fixed if you know how I can make the flash drive to hdd work successfully.

I'm still pretty new at this, so sorry if I confused anybody. But this has really been bothering me, I've been trying different things for about a week now. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

wii backup manager should recognize your usb stick as a drive. you should be able to load up both drives through backup manager. just check the box on the ssbb game and click transfer to the other drive.

Thanks skell, but I already tried that. It seems to transfer normally, but when it says complete, wii backup manager shows "[RSBE01] Super Smash Bros. Brawl". Normally that text is green, as i've transferred other games this way. I never get any error message, but it must fail, because the game doesn't show up on the hard drive.

Why not try re-ripping it from the original disc to your new harddrive then?

CFG usb loader freezes when I try to rip this game from my wii to the hdd. This happens at random points (see my original post). I don't think any of my computers have a dvd drive capable of reading wii discs.

well it froze a few times, but usb loader GX worked... when i sat and continually stared at the tv while pressing a. So it was way more effort than it should have needed but it did work. Thanks
