Hope everyone had a Great Christmas (Newbie in need of advice)

    Hey guys,

Yeah Im new to the Wii scene, bought a new Black Wii console from christmas and it aint even been unboxed yet lol, I thought before I softmodded it I may aswell try my sister in laws white wii which is a few years old now. I followed this tut which I must say is brilliant!

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

I followed it to a tea reading it over and over again before following the steps, It was pretty easy and straight forward, The only fault I did get was an upside down screen which I now still have, but have been told if I uninstall the Homebrew channel that should fix it .

The will is one of the first versions, from what I can remember it was version 3.1... So I updated it to 4.1 using that guide. I then burned Donkey Kong to a verbaitm DVD R Disk and inserted it into the drive to find the following error 1667 I believe. As far as I know everything went smooth. I dumped the Nand etc which I still have on my comp right now incase of an emergency. I have just got a Sandisk Cruzer Slice 8GB Memory stick today and was wondering if I would be able to run DK From there?

I have read guides but really I aint got a clue lol, I understand my drive is one of the following....

The Wii probably has a RVL-001(EUR) model number and is produced for the European market. The copyright year is 2006.

Your drive most likely has the following chipset:

    • There is a 75% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C2 (v2) and the drive has the new metal clip.
    • And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C (v1).

If anyone could help me get this baby running It would be greatly appreciated

    Thankyou so much guys!

Yes, you can run games from usb, which is much easier then discs anyway. You should follow THIS guide to get that going.
