    WTF is this thing?

I took my Wii apart to replace the optical lens. OK so sure I took the metal backing off where the eject mechanism is and I wasn't supposed to, but this part fell out, and for the life of me I can't figure out where it fits into the puzzle.

    Anyone?

That goes on the ride side of your DVD drive closest to the front, underneath the top metal plate (the one held by 5 screws), if you are facing the opening. Might have to fiddle with it to get it back in there as it only comes off when stressed.

You sure that's where it goes? There's a big one there, but I've tried every dimension on and around it and it doesn't fit in there.

My mistake. Front left side where the white ribbon cable slides through. You'll need to align it small side forward and slide it down into place. Should slide in easily.
