What is the difference between Dynarec and Interpreter emulation?

When someone if refering to playstation emulation and when they are talking about how some games play better on Dynarec and some better on Interpreter, what are they talking about? What does this mean?

The way the code executes. Without getting too techy...dynarec can recompile while executing where as interpreter executes source directly or predecompiled code. I'm sure someone with more programming skill can probably correct my basic hobbyist description and go further in depth.
