I had the drive working previously formated to wbfs. It is 120GB WD Passport, WD1200U017-004. On the wiihacks list the same drive, but with a different model number, is listed as working. On the GBA Temp list this drive is listed as working with something called neogamma and untested on others. I was thinking of buying a new one anyway, if that is the problem. The Apps Pack did not seem to change anything, except now configurable usb loader won't open up at all. It crashes on the splash screen and my usb drive clicks over and over. I will try formatting to fat as you suggested.

I purchased some new externals and now it seems to work. I tossed the other one in the bin. I can't guarentee that it is not compatible because I did have it working in the past, but it was sort of clicking and it was a few years old. I just tested Wiiflow and it seems to work with all titles, which is fantastic. I get my wisdom teeth taken out in a few days and it will be great to have the Wii set up and not need to change discs (they say straining yourself after extraction is a bad idea). I'm just so happy that it's all going now. All I need to do is set up Triiforce or another way to run WW and VC titles and I will be set.

Thanks for all your help. I will probably stick around the forums to help out others if I can and to stay up to date with develtopments.

    glad you got it sorted
you can also try out uLoader. has an option to emulate nand, just drop games to usb:\nand\install and uLoader will start installing the games automatically to some emulated nand when you run it the first time. good luck with your new drive. enjoy your wii

    <--suggestions helped? press Thanks
