    usb loader gx Black screen.

When I open usb loader gx it loads fine cover art and such, dl's and saves fine. But, when I try to load a game it instantly black screens.

I don't know why as it has worked before.

I've been reading through the forums and people seem to have similar problems but most at least get to the tighten strap screen.

    Here's my syscheck...

I honestly can't remember which guides I had used to mod it, because it was quite awhile a go. I just recently got a new hdd and backed up my games onto it the same as I had before.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem with a few games. Family Game Night and Wii Sports. I would prefer to use USB Loader GX but if I have to I'll switch. It really hurts the wife acceptance factor.

Hmmm... No good. Cfg gets to:

[+] Booting Wii game, please wait...

    IOS 249

After that it just sits there.
I also can't download cover art, that seems to freeze it up.

I'll scour some more posts and see what I can find out. I think it may be an issue with my IOS 249. As in any app I try to open, once it says that it freezes up.

Ok. Got some of the games to load fine using usb loader gx. (Donkey Kong Country Returns, Cooking Mama 2: World Kitchen, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Marioparty 8, Mario Strikers Charged Football, Mariokart Wii, and the Metroid Prime Trilogy.) My issue was my partition wasn't set to Primary.

Thanks again Vinatec for the direction to that post!

NSMB isn't working says IMET is wrong... I think I just need to change which IOS it loads off of. The "Which games use which IOS" page (found here-http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/24965-ios-games-use-run.html) Says IOS 53 v5406 which seems odd to me because it worked fine before... Also in transferring my backup of SMGalaxy and Galaxy 2 they seemed to stop working as well. I think they may have been corrupted somehow.

And on an unrelated note, I noticed my Wii shop black screens on load... sad day :/

    Hi,
so i didn't pay very much attention to your syscheck at first,
Did you do any updating to your cIOS in the process?
You should go to the cIOS as wads thread linked below and get the recommended setup.
your 249rev14 is kind of old, rev17 is recommended in this slot. IN slot 250 would go a rev20 base57 for example and you are missing some alternatives, aka cIOS 222 and 223.
get all those and then you can adjust the loader settings to use a different cIOS, the list you found is only for original discloading or when you are hardmodded. when you are usb loading via a softmod you always use the cIOS set in the loader, nothing more.
FAQ in the softmod basics linked below may also give further hints. good luck

Installed MMM. Will let you know if that fixes anymore of my issues. Specifically NSMB. Thanks again for your expertise Vinatec.

I notice in that thread it mentions

"Never delete or remove any IOS lower than IOS200!!

    Base iOS Used:
    IOS37-64-v3869.wad -> Instruments.
IOS38-64-v3867.wad -> Same as previous cIOSs, Stable
IOS57-64-v5918.wad -> Faster USB Loading.Works best with newer games
IOS56-64-v5661.wad -> Works for all the games better then ios37"

    Where as I have:
    IOS37 (rev 3612): No Patches
    IOS38 (rev 3610): No Patches

And seem to be missing 56 and 57... Which seem to be the most beneficial to me, yet they are not listed in the downloads. As I've read, tampering with IOS' lower than 200 has a tendency to brick your device, I am inclined to not even ask. But I do like faster loading.

If it's above my abilities I wont even bother, but I would like to know whether or not it's something I should have.

    hey,
what is explained there in the cIOS as wads thread is:
which of the listed base IOS was used to compile the cIOS, thus giving the benefit from the base IOS. you don't have to worry if they are installed or not for now. you just download the cIOS you like with the corresponding base IOS in the [ ] brackets, and install that one. The base IOS is built in/included in the cIOS, no need to have them seperately. When you use your disc or usbloader only the compiled cIOS file will be used not the IOS itself.
    hope that helps.
