Help with black screen and updating.

Hi i'm new on this forum and have 2 questions

    1. If this can be fixed i don't need to know No.2. I currently have problems with running games. When i run then on my hardchipped wii it gives a black screen. I have tried Super mario galaxy 2, Sonic colours and a few others. I had the same problem with Call of duty Black ops which i fixed by updating the IOS. But i am still confused. Is there a unerversal fix for this?

    2. How do i update my wii without bricking it. I have a hardchipped wii and i have the homebrew channel.

P.S : I don't know what chip i have in my wii. Is there a way of finding out if you need to know?

I really need help with this as i am a newbie to the wii

    Introduce Yourself

Not sure I'm following. The hardmod black screens, or the softmod black screens? We do have guides on SMG2, COD:BO, and I've seen posts on Sonic. If you have HBC installed as mentioned, do this and post as a reply to this thread (along with answering the questions posed).

Modchip identification usually involves opening up your Wii (requires triwing screwdriver, Flea Bay it). You can take a look at the modchip identication thread here.

I'm left with repeating or rephrasing, so shall it be: it sounded as if you're softmodded as well, are you? What happens if you load the titles mentioned via a backup loader? Have you bothered searching or finding the guides I spoke of relating to two of the three titles you mention? Have you attempted to follow them (generally they included hard and soft instructions; I know for a fact both of the two in the instant case do)? And where's that SysCheck?

Yes it is also softmodded because i did not have the chip before and couldn't get the backup launcher to work

I copied what was on the file and edited it into my last post. All the new games that i have downloaded give me a black screen and i fixed COD:BO by using a IOS but it only works for COD:BO and not for the others. Also should i use Wii Shop and IOS61 Installer : http://www.wiihacks.com/homebrew-dow...installer.html
Will it cause any problems if i do?

Wow, that's a pretty bare IOS report. No, if you have followed Krank's guide on Black Ops, he links you to the SC update in the guide (that's for a previous iteration). Only IOS 249 Rev 20 period/paragraph and @ 3.3? That's not a wiihacks softmod guide you followed, that's for certain. Perhaps you should --- do a proper softmod? Other than that, Teal'C has a thread like "What IOS Games Need to Run" or similar in the Recommended Guides section for hardmods. No IOS for hardmod = black screen. Softmod exclusively relies on cIOS. Normally we discourage users from cIOS-X Rev 20, but you got that from BO and somewhat understandable. Perhaps Mauifrog's Softmod ANY Wii would be the better choice for you.

I just wan't everything i need listed and a link to it and instructions on what to do. I just wan't to be able to run games on my hardchipped wii through the wii disc channel and not the backup loader or usb loader.

Also i got the guide from another website which if you need just ask.

um...you're not supposed to bump within 24hrs
to run burned games from the disc channel... you'll have to install something that's not recommended
