    Will I lose everything?

    Hey guys!
I didn't play my wii for a month or so and now it doesn't even power on. I tried all the things Nintendo told me to and it doesn't work. So now I am planning on sending my wii to them to have it fixed.(It was within the warranty period luckily) So i have(d) an amazing softmodded Wii. What is going to happen? Will i lose all my data? Do they care if it is softmodded? Please help. thanks in advance!!

Nintendo will transfer your savedata -- at least she did with my savedata when my Wii failed for some unknown reason.
I don't know if Nintendo actually checks if it's softmodded or not, but she will send you a Wii with firmware 4.3, which is hackable.

I sent mine into nintendo for repair also within warranty and they said because it had been softmodded it invalidated the warranty and wanted £199 to fix it so i told them to send me it back non fixed inwhich they did.

I guess I've been lucky. Many people had the issue mickb explained, but I just got a virgin 4.3 with my savegames back.

    Fingers crossed.

I hope they don't care if it is soft modded or not.. I want my Wii fixed and i don't want to pay for it.. I thought only opening the wii voids your warranty..

    WARRANTY LIMITATIONS
THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY IF THIS PRODUCT: (a) IS USED WITH PRODUCTS NOT SOLD OR LICENSED BY NINTENDO (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, NON-LICENSED GAME ENHANCEMENT AND COPIER DEVICES, ADAPTERS, AND POWER SUPPLIES); (b) IS USED FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES (INCLUDING RENTAL); (c) IS MODIFIED OR TAMPERED WITH; (d) IS DAMAGED BY NEGLIGENCE, ACCIDENT, UNREASONABLE USE, OR BY OTHER CAUSES UNRELATED TO DEFECTIVE MATERIALS OR WORKMANSHIP; OR (e) HAS HAD THE SERIAL NUMBER ALTERED, DEFACED OR REMOVED.
It depends on how they want to interpret that! Good luck.

It depends, indeed. Cross your fingers, pray a few times, and hope that Nintendo will not notice it.
I guess she skipped the check when I've sent it to her.
