How to install IOS236 on a Wii 4.2J

Guys i would like some assistance with regards to my issue. I already installed the Homebrew Channel using hack mii. I wanna use my external drive but for some reason the external drive is not responsive with my console. When i tested my friends external drive the result was still the same- unresponsive. I've read that i need to install the IOS236 but for some reason i was not successful in doing so. Please help.

You have to do more than just install HBC to get an external drive to work. Follow the softmod any wii guide in my signature to get you wii fully functional.

Sir i install the IOS236 but some error message appear. UNABLE TO INITIALIZE THE INITIAL PATCHES, THIS EITHER MEANS YOU DIDNT FOLLOW THE DOWNLOAD AND LAUNCHING INSTRUCTION CORRECTLY, OR YOUR IOS IS NOT VULNERABLE FOR UNKNOWN REASON. PERHAPS YOU NEED TO UPDATE THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL.

All stubbed means you are not softmodded.

Im not really sure how. I only installed the HBC, bootmii and back-up. but when i try to use wad manager for some reason it only freezes. So i think that i have some missing IOS. I just bought this console 2nd hand and when i check it out i cannot play back-up games so i try to install homebrew channel. Please give me some advice to solve my issue.

you need to follow the guide linked above, do ALL of it. As already said, installing HBC is NOT enough on its own!
