    CXonfiguration USB Loader

Hi everyone, Thanks to Maulfrog I recently used Maulfrog's excellent guide to upgrade my wii from 3.4e to 4.1e. Also a very big thanks to all the wiihacks community which offered splendid advice to me a complete noob. I however have a couple of issues if someone can help please, Firstly using the guide I installed Config Usb Loader along with other recommended apps by Maulfrog onto my SD card. Everything ran well. Then I decided to use a External Hard Drive. I could not understand anything about the need for thing like IOS 249 etc so just went ahead and formatted the External HDD to FAT32 and launched cfg usb loader from the wii channels screen. It worked ok and I ripped some of my originals to the External HDD. I then decided to copy the whole of the contents of the SD card including the config usb loader over to my external hard drive. I then took out the SD card and turned the wii on. When i clicked on the config usb loader from the main wii channels screen I am getting a black screen saying "error cannot open file". When I launch it through the Homebrew channel it loads ok, Do I need to keep the SD card in for it to work from the wii channels screen?? Also my second issue is that after taking out the SD card and copying everything over to the external hard drive the homebrew browser takes alot longer to load is that normal?? Please can someone help I have tried to look for answers before asking thanks again..

The forwarder channel you installed may expect the file to be on your sd card and not even look @ the usb device. I think there are specific versions of the channels needed to point to the correct device. My homebrew seems to load slower from usb too. You will get used to it.

Thanks skellinator when you say "The forwarder channel" is that part of the config usb install i mean does that get installed separately or is it integrated inside the usb loader , can i adjust setting in it so it looks to the usb device

Then channel you have installed into the wii menu is really just a forwarder that points to your sd card. I had a very hard time finding one that worked correctly for me too. I will try to dig through my old post to see if I can find the link to the one I use. I will edit this post if I find it.

    Here is my old thread,
there are a couple different channels linked throughout it. One of them should work for you.

Thanks will be much appreciated, otherwise i could just leave the SD card in the wii with the loader on it. Also do you know if it is normal for artwork not be be found for all games, cus I have come across several which only show the front cover and not the back, when trying to download missing covers it keeps saying error no png image..

There have been several people with this issue lately, I think there is a way to download them yourself and transfer them to your HD. You will have to do the research on that one

I added a link in my previous post though.
