Wii won't play new games. Can I uninstall Neogamma

I installed NeoGamma back in January and it worked perfectly. The problem is that newer games that we had purchased don't work, like Band Hero and Lego Harry Potter.
We installed the game CD, click on the game icon in the Menu, and then the console just tuns off. We tried countless times and it always shuts off. Older games play normally.
I am no expert at this, I just took a chance an followed the directions to install it and it worked. Now I am wondering if I should just uninstall all the softmodes an make the wii a virgin again. I could then be able to update online and play the new games? We are no longer playing the backup games we have, so we won't miss Neogamma that much.
Can someone guide to the best and safest way to uninstall everything I did install and make the wii like originally was? Remember, I need step by step, simple instructions...
    Thanks so much!!!

It is not recommended to make your wii a virgin again. If you really want to kill the softmod you can just update through Nintendo. It would probably be very simple to just look for a fix for those 2 games though. There is a problematic game guide that might help you out.

Thanks riger, I will read through it to see if it applies to me. Where do I find out if my wii is a LU64+ ? It also warns not to do it if the wii was bought that year, I understand 2009. I am not sure if we got ours 2008 or 2009. How do I make sure it is safe to do it.

Skellinator: Why you do not recommend to make it a virgin? I read in some of the posts that updating through Nintendo can brick the wii. What your take on this?

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

There are a lot of experts (I AM NOT AN EXPERT!) on this site that seem to think that re-virginizing is not a good idea, I think because it's easy to brick yourself in the process. I am pretty sure updating is not going to brick you, and is a lot easier that the "virgin guide". Personally, I would just address the issues you have with those 2 games. You will miss the back-ups eventually! The game guide I linked you has a specific fix for band hero, and I am sure someone here could help you figure out the lego problem.

The "LU64+" is referring to the serial number on the side of your wii.

How to bypass WII Menu Update proposed by Potter 1-4?

I own softmoded WII, 4.1E, and currently purchased Harry Potter 1-4. When started asks me to update Menu from Nintendo, what I obviously dont want to. Which is the shortest way to play original game? Making WII virgin again is not so safe, so I heard.
Is it possible to bypass this update somehow? I dont know if update is included on disk, or it needs internet access, so I dont want to start the update even without internet connection.

If you are softmodded then you should have priiloader..... make sure you have the disc and online updates blocked.... then the game should boot fine.... also you can use neogamma to launch the retail game... I'm on my phone so I don't have link but search for "the latest neogamma channels" thread is by me!!!

@ op, Look to Emuhack's thread and update your neogamma revision, also if you haven't installed Hermes yet, do so. Stomp_442 has a cpl guides here for that using V4 for 222/223 and V5.1 for 202/224. As far as the recommended base ios to use for each it is also in the guides.
