I want to update to newest firmware but I can't

I "softmodded" my wii a while back and have since deleted all the channels associated with the mod because I hardly ever use my wii and when I do its for a new game. Anyway, when I try to update the wii I get the standard error 32017 message. I just bought 007 and I do not want to have to send my wii in for repair but I would like to check out the wii store since I have not been on there in long long time. Can anyone help me out? People say that if I call nintendo they will just tell me to send it in to them but thats to much of a pain in my ass....

    Any tips?

You shouldn't have removed softmods. Updating your System Menu past 4.1 will only cause problems anyway. I suggest you re-softmod it with this guide. It will update your IOS's, channels, block System Menu updates, and more. You can then run any game/channel without a problem.

Btw, Nintendo now just send the Wii back if it has ever been softmodded. You can't remove all traces of it.

I currently have 4.3u and the first time I tried to update it made it about 95% through and then gave me the error. Now it gives me the error after a minute or less. If I resoftmod my wii will I be able to use the Wii Shop Channel and actually see the newest stuff on there?

And that is why you shouldn't have removed your softmods, or updated through Nintendo. Because the update failed, and you no longer have softmods to protect your Wii, you could have a big problem.

Do you happen to own Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, or Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's? You need to do a system check so we can see what was installed.

I do not have any of those games. I can still play 007 and the only thing I can't do is use the shop channel. I don't see any big problems other than I can't see whats new in the store which isn't a huge deal to me anyway. Just something to do when bored.

Softmods were removed and he has 4.3 without any of the games for softmodding.

Not unless you happened to install bootmii as boot2.

The failed update through Nintendo could be a minor thing, or a big deal, so it would be great if you have a NAND backup.
