    Neogamma read error 1167

    Hi.

I managed to softmod my 3.4 Wii with this guide http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html but when I try and play a burned disc I get a 1167 error through Neogamma.

I have tried three types of discs (including the Verbatim DVD-R 4x which seems to be recommended on here) and every time I get the same error, even after burning with Imgburn and following all the instructions.

Would it be worth getting a lens cleaning kit as the Wii is pretty old now, or should I give it up as a bad job and invest in a flash drive?

    Thanks in advance

It could be that your Wii has the D3-2 drive, but that's most likely not the problem since your Wii's firmware is version 3.4, and 1167 usually means bad media. Verbatim is not bad media, but perhaps you've used the ''junk'' media of Verbatim.

Does the box of the Verbatim DVDs you used happen to be blue and white? (bad media)
Or is the box blue and orange? (good media)

Using the blue and orange one from above, and the drive isn't D3-2.

At least I've got some new coasters!

Can your drive still play original games through the Disc Channel?

This is odd. Which game is it? Is it a dual-layer game?

Thanks for your help, the stuff I was trying to burn were October 2010 games (Hasbro Family Game Night 3 and Peppa Pig 2 Fun and Games).
I borrowed Mario Kart and Wii Play from a friend and they worked fine.

Is there a different process to doing newer games? I'm new to this stuff.

I still figure D3-2 drive (even if @ 3.4 previously). Plug your serial # into here and post back the results to this thread.
