    Yes, I'm just wanting to play normal dvds. We're using a ps2 at the moment, but it's skipping with even veeeeery slightly scratched dvds. Why would a Wii laser wear out more than a dvd player?

    +1. Spawn- why is you ps2 dvd laser dying? From lots of use? Same with the wii, and especially depending on the types of media. DVD+R for example will kill it quick and in a hurry. Bust the piggy bank with a hammer and get a $20 DVD player. If it makes you feel better spend $3 more dollars and get some white and black paint and paint the dvd player so it looks like a wii.
