Can I boot up after it's bricked?

Hi everyone, it's my first time posting here. I tried searching but the amount of information on this site is overwhelming so I thought I'd ask by starting a thread. I had my wii since launch, I recently had a problem where after the health screen, it goes to a screen that says "system files are corrupted." I updated my system maybe 3 weeks ago so I'm guessing I have the latest update. I'm reading all these guides/hacks on here but I'm unfamiliar with a lot of the terms. So can I actually use a SD card and boot from card and reinstall the OS? FWIW holding the +/- sign does nothing. I wasn't sure if all these hacks to restore your wii only applies if you previously hacked it. Which guide would I need to look at if there's one? All these guides have hundreds of pages to it and I tried reading maybe 10 pages from each and I'm just lot. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Judging from your post, your wii was not previously modded, am I correct?
If you still get the health screen, it might be saveable, press +,- and the 'A' button to get into maintenance mode.
Maybe you can run a disk with a 4.3 update on it to fix your system menu, (like Metroid: Other M)
If it has been previously modded don't do this as there might be a better/safer fix.

You are correct, the unit has never been modded. When I turn the console on, that's the "health" screen we're talking about right? and at that screen, my controller is off at this point. I tried holding all three buttons. I tried tapping them all at once. All it does is that it gets me to the error screen that says it's system files are corrupted.

Thanks for the quick response, am I correct to assume at this point the only way to get working is to sent it back to Nintendo?

You can't just tap them all at once. You need to press and hold + and - for a second, then press and hold A (but don't let go of + or -).

If that doesn't work, you need to send it to Nintendo.
