    Wiimc Not Detecting usb drive

I would really appreciate some help here as i have read all posts and searched google for answers and followed all the guides but still my usb drive wont show up in wiimc channel 1.5 and install from homebrew 1.1 yet all my usb loaders detect it with no problems and i can play my backup games and as a last resort i installed media player ce and this shows my usb drive and was able to run a movie now some of you may think its an hardrive issue as its a internal 160gb seagate st3160215ACE and i,m using a ide to usb adaptor with a spare pc power supply to power hardrive but this setup works in all of my usb loaders EXCEPT Wiimc which i would really like to use. I have done a system check and would appreciate if someone could tell me if i need to update something as i wouldnt have a clue thanx in advance simon.

Are you sure that you have the latest version of Wiimc? Cause I had the same problem that wiimc couldn't read my usb. And through the wiimc I was suggested to update the program and so I did. But I only thought I did, cause for some reason wiimc wasn't updated and I keept getting the update option.

So I went to the Homebrew browser and updated my Wiimc through it and when all was rebooted (not sure if its necessary) I opened Wiimc and it could find my usb.

    Hope this helps.

Don't forget to select the type of media that is on your usb device, in the toolbar at the top left of the WiiMC screen. Example, if you have a movie on your usb device, and you have selected audio/music with the WiiMC toolbar, then your USB device will not show the movie file.

nice sysCheck, it looks just like mine.

Thanx for your response stomp but correct me if i,m wrong i thought clicking the type of media you want in the toolbar was basically a shortcut to your media folder on your drive ie videos , music, pics ect and surely if my usb drive was detected it would show up as USB either above or below where it says SD when you load wiimc up. Thanx again simon.

well after spending 2 days solid on this i managed to get my 8gb usb stick to work in wiimc and i tried 5 different ide drives which at least 1 is in the compatible list yet none of these ide drives would show up in wiimc yet they worked in media player ce and my other usb loaders to play backups so i have come to the conclusion that wiimc has an issue with either ide drives or the ide to usb adaptor i,m using i think its time to invest in a 1tb usb drive.
