Wii Speak

Hey all....

I just bought my son the Wii Speak from Wally World for like $5.00

I hooked it up and i need to install some wii speak channel..

To do that the wii says i need to update everything.

I do not want to do to the wii being soft modded..

how can i get the Wii Speak to work with out updating the firmware?

update shop channel then get the wii speak channel through it...
