    WiiMC freezing issue

After weeks of nothing going wrong last night I was watching The Event using a Maxtor 750GB HDD & WiiMC when random blocky lines started appearing for about 5mins and then it just froze. Now if I turn my Wii on with the HDD connected it comes up on my TV as no signal when I unplug the HDD it loads instantly without needing to be reset. If I try and access the HBC with the HDD connected it hangs on a black screen untill I unplug the HDD and then it loads instanly. I uninstalled WiiMC and everything went back to normalish. So I reinstalled WiiMC and the same thing Happened. So I uninstalled it and installed an older version of MC but when I try and load it it hangs for a second before kicking back out to the main channel screen. So I uninstalled that and downloaded MCEplayer I think it's called and that works fine despite having an ugly and clumsy UI. I downloaded the channel fowarder as my kids use it I don't like running everything from the HBC as there are too many things for them to click about on. But for the life of me I can't get MMM to load to install the WAD it just hangs on a black screen and the wiimotes dissconnect.

My Wii was originally softmoded to 4.1e about a year ago using Dogeggs guide then more recently I ran through Mauifrogs guide just to clear out my SD card and update anything that might have changed. Whether or not this was a good Idea I don't know but it ran beautifully for a few weeks, untill last night. None of this seems to have affected my Games and all my backups play fine inc GH6 & WiiParty.

I am at work at the moment so may not be able to answer any spexific questions or post a syscheck until later but if anyone could help that would be great as I love using my Wii as a media centre it's so much neater than having my spare 360 dumped under the telly.

    Added syscheck:

    sysCheck v2.0.1 by Double_A

    Hi,
did you install the hbc again when you decided to run through mauifrog's guide?
you should do that to ensure it runs under IOS58.

is your wii always turned off properly? (red light not orange), always shut down to red light (turn wiiconnect24 off in the wiisettings).

you tried a forwarder channel or a full channel of wiimc?
maybe go for the fullchannel in your case.

    good luck for now

    <--suggestions helped? press Thanks

Not sure, about the light colour but it's kinda turned on and off all day long as I have twin boys under 2 who like to push buttons I will check wiiConnect24 tonight.

I have tried both, the full channel (1.5 I think) and it's really buggy and causes the problems as described above. The older channels don't work at all and just return to the system menu. I have put one of the older ones on my SD to access through HBC (1.08 I think) and that seems to work although it's a little choppy at times on some of my newer AVI's and obviously keeps asking me to update.

    Thanks for the repy
