    Kirby's Epic Yarn Update

    Hello all,

I recently bought Kirby's Epic Yarn for my softmodded 4.3U Wii.

I put the disc in and the disc channel said I needed to update the system. Of course I didn't do it. I came on here to look up a way to bypass this while leaving my Wii on in the background.

After a few minutes of searching, I found a few solutions and decided to try them. When I turned around to look at my TV, the Disc Channel had replaced its picture from the "Update System" picture, to a picture of Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Did something update without me knowing? My Wii System Settings are still set to 4.3U, and the game is able to boot up normally now. I'm just confused, and I'm not sure what happened.

    Any ideas?

Did you happen to have cMIOS? The disc alway checks your SM version, MIOS, and probably other things. I just know that I didn't have to block disc updates until I installed cMIOS for NeoGamma.

I followed mauifrog's guide to the letter and managed to install everything that he posted over on his guide.

I was about to post that I had booted the Wii without the SD card being in place, and that after I booted it with the SD card in, it read just fine. But just now I double checked and it's letting me run the game without asking for an update even when the SD card isn't in.

I doubt the SD card should matter since I formatted it after the WAD installs in the guide I just linked. All that's on there are a couple of apps to run in Homebrew.

Not entirely sure what prompted the initial update message.

It's weird, it didn't load at all yesterday. Not entirely sure how to go around the disc update channel when it actually does show up.
