    updating softmod wii from v4.1 to v4.3

    hello all I am definitely a noob when it comes to the wii hb channel and all. I have searched the threads and am still confused. here is my question... I am homebrewed on wii v4.1 all i want to do is update to v4.3 and successfully keep my mods and all.I dont know if this will help at all but my system menu says..... v449, IOS58 (rev6175),Boot2 v4,NTSC U.If in the event the info that I am looking for is already posted somewhere plz feel free to redirect me there.THNX in advance

    That can't be done. You will need to redo some of your mods no matter what. There is no need/reason to update to 4.3. You may have to update some IOS's for games/channels, but not the System Menu. Is there a specific game or channel you are having trouble with?

    Do not update. 4.3 firmware has no benefit over 4.1. This update is specifically designed to kill homebrew.

    NO I am not having trouble with any games at all.I had noticed that with the update Id be able to use netflix without having to install the netflix disc every time. But if you think itll be too much trouble for me then ill just stay put. thanks again!

    You don't need to update the System Menu, just the Shopping Channel. Use Krank's guide.

    okay, I checked out the guide you directed me to (Kranks) now bear with me a bit ,Im about to give it a shot . ! question though, I notice that there is a step after 7. Wad Manager -- WAD-Manager_v1.7.rar
    now will i need this or no and if so when?

    Yes thats the file you have to download to install the wad file on your wii.

    I try to move WAD manager to sd card and it says write protected. any ideas?

    That means your SD card is locked. At the side of the Sd card there is a little tab that says "lock" move it to the other side to unlock it.

    Yeah,it was'nt locked at all. Its a 2gb sandisk for wii???? : )
