Ca sad little noob that cannot title a thread

Ok first off, Hi I got my first Wii I saw a Wii that was softhacked, I tried to do the same. I did NOT brick.... yet....

here is my setup and steps taken thus far:

    system menu ver 3.4u
installed via bannerbomb hackmii_installer_v0.8.zip= Mii and homebrew
    backed up nand full
Used WBFS Manager 3.0 to prep my 500gb usb laptop HDD in a box drive.
backed up an ISO and installed on the drive.
Treid and failed to install 12411-cIOSX_rev20b-Installer.zip
found and installed TBR as below:
1: Copy files to SD card , all IOS go on the root, the 3 apps in the 'apps' folder.
2: Go to Homebrew channel and run Trucha Bug Restorer, load IOS36, press 1, read the warnings then select 'downgrade IOS15', select to load IOS from SD card then let it do its job.

3: Run Trucha Bug Restorer again, this time using d-pad left/right to change the IOS, load IOS15 on first screen, select the IOS36 menu & install patched (select 'yes' on all 3 patches) IOS36 to slot 36, again using IOS from SD card.
4: Run Trucha Bug Restorer again, load IOS36 and this time select restore IOS15.
    now installed 12411-cIOSX_rev20b-Installer.zip selecting IOS36
    still no brick....whew....
tried wiiflow, no go, hdd goes to sleep Wii locks up.
Tried 12411-cIOSX_rev20b-Installer.zip hdd stays awake but Wii still locks up.

    anyone?

I have access to a working softhacked Wii, can I take a Nand image of that one and restore it on my Wii?

P.S. forgot to add, this Wii was mod chipped b4 I dont know what chip, I got a few copied dvd's with it.
they work, but my real goal is to have all my games on the USB HDD so my little kids dont wreck the orig dvd's

    Hey,
a good thing would be to look at your syscheck
How to post a syscheck: Instructions here
but i guess you just want to get it all up and running.
You could use the softmod any wii guide by mauifrog (linked below) and stop doing this and that and theese without knowing (i guess, sorry if I am wrong) what you are doing it will give you the perfect setup which you need to play any game, has options to go for, in your case maybe you want to update via the guide to 4.1. it has the most shortcuts available and you will be done in less than 20 minutes and are perfectly set.
just read through the guide thoroughly, takes some time but you wont regret the outcome of it.

for the harddrive, maybe it is not compatible, you can try again with a fat32 route, also any usb stick/thumbdrive should work to test your modding. fat32 guide linked below as well.

    good luck for now

why are you linking the 4.3 guide (only includes the game exploits, if he is indeed on 3.4 he can easily bannerbomb the hackmii installer)

Because I am retarded, or dyslexic. I though it said 4.3 and could not figure out how he did bannerbomb. I am going to delete that post, thanks for paying attention!

Follow a guide from our site, and therefore be able to get support if needed for it.
If you have issues with it, ask in the thread of the guide, no need to post scrambled details of something done, that were not contained in one or more of our guides, as we can't help with that.

I have one last question/thing I want to make it do.

Is there a way to have it boot directly up into WiiFlow? this is for my little kids, I dont want them haveing to fumble about in menus or anything, just turn it on, slect game and play.

    thanx

look at chapter 2 part 3 of this guide, If you don't have priiloader installed you cannot do it, but you REALLY SHOULD HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED PRIILOADER.

Sorry I may have stated it wrong, yes I have PRILOADER installed, yup it works, nope I dont know how to work it.
I found a section that refered to :
    Select load/install,
If you want to autoboot USBLOADER, install USBLoaderCFG_Forwarder.dol
If you want to autoboot HomeBrew Channel, install HBC-Forwarder.dol

but I have no DOL file for WiiFlow and all I can find that refers to a forwarder is this file "WiiFlow StarNight Channel Forwarder-WSNF.wad" I found in the rar.

but I am hesitant to install a wad unless someone that knows this stuff says I should.

on your sd card in the apps folder go to the wiiflow folder and in there there is a file called boot.dol, thats the file that needs to be on the root of your sd card
as for the forwarder that will create a channel that when you click it, it will take you to wiiflow
