    real dvds

    I have a black wii modded 4.2e
I have installed mplayer and the cios installer
I run mplayer via HBC it comes up with all the controls etc I put a genuine dvd in wii drive and press play on mplayer screen but nothing
The timer starts counting on screen but no picture or anything
If anyone can help me rectify this it would be most appreciated

The wii was never meant to play DVD's -- Even Retail Disks and since you have a black wii you have no chance in playing burned disks either... The wii Disk's use a special filesystem that is why your computer can not read the wii disks and only certain drives can...

Your best bet it to use a dvd-ripping software and rip it to an AVI and load WiiMc and play through that media player....

WiiMc.org = that is where you get it from

You can not add files to a WBFS drive except .iso files for wii games....

You can do a couple of things....

    1. Create a Shared Network folder and have the wiimc program connect to it and stream from a computer (THAT IS WHAT I DO)
    2. or have a seperate Flash Drive and it will play avi's off that....
