Is there something more to using BootMe than just running the application?
You have to run Wii BootMe with cmd prompt. Easiest way is to put Bootme and the game iso on desktop. Go to cmd prompt and you should see C:\Users\Name\> at this prompt type \desktop\BootMe.exe desktop\game.iso a - Then press enter

The above prompt will successfully patch the game.

Thank you! Got BootMe working, unfortunately i dont think it helped. I used BootMe on SMG2 in hopes that it would autoboot, but i do not think its working. It is currently sitting in my Wii as we speak spinning but all i get is a black screen still

I was able to get my hands on two other games (for testing purposes): Twilight Princess & Mario Kart. Hopefully i can get one of the two games to autoboot and update my Wii.
If this does not work, are there any other options other than getting a new chip?

Seeing as you don't have any softmods, priiloader, bootmii on this system. Your only two options are; autobooting a game with a modchip or sending the console to a programmer to have boot2 flashed with Bootmii. - This should be possible if you do in fact have a launch day Wii as said in your first post.
