NBA Jam is asking me to do an update. My Wii was updated a few years ago. Should I?

I just bought NBA JAM for the Wii. When I put the game in & tried to play, it ask me to update my Wii. I remembered a few years back I got my Wii modified to play burn games. I think it was a hard mod. So if I accept this update will it ruin my Wii? How can I get around this update so I can play my NBA JAM? Thanks!

Agreed! I also advise to install Priiloader then go into System Hacks (in priiloader menu) and enable the hack that blocks disc-based updates and online updates. That should do it

Perhaps it would be better phrased ENABLE the hacks that BLOCK disc-based updates and online updates --- don't you think? I get what you're saying, but with differing levels of skill sets for users on this site we don't want to erroneously misdirect them.

You know, if you use a backup loader it uses the cIOS rather than IOS --- right? Make sure Priiloader is enabled to block disc and online updates. This all being predicated on your Wii being softmodded, of course.

What you failed to address is essentially everything I mentioned.
