Us Possible solution for GameCube & USB loader...

If I posted this in the wrong spot I apologize...

I've been reading up and apparently there is no GameCube ability with the USB loader for the Wii. I've read that USB loader GameCube functionality cant be done because the GameCube didn't have USB ports. The GameCube did have a DSL modem.

I remember reading up that you could FTP games from your PC to you Gamecube with a copy of Phantasy-Star-Online (PSO) a DSL modem and a exploit save on a GameCube mem-card. The Wii has a USB LAN attachment. What if you were to trick the GameCube side of the Wii into thinking that the USB ports are LAN ports and make a channel for FTP-ing.

I'm not a programmer but I figure edit the original PSO exploit (or create a new) to boot from a SD-card as a channel. Put a dummy file on the GameCube partition of a USB hard drive that tricks it into thinking its an ip address & what-not. The channel finds the dummy ip file and then "FTP" your GameCube games over.

The GameCube had modem functionality. The modem may be "gone" but could be programmed back.

Just a thought, figured it couldn't hurt.

P.S. aren't the GameCube controller ports just bastardized USB ports? I know Xbox (original) are & I thought the GameCubes were as well.

Well, first off, there is a way to use an USB disc to load gamecube discs, but it is still in closed beta (meaning it is still being tested and isn't out in the public). Second, the hardware of the wii and gamecube differs too much for this method (I think).
Awesome sig picture does not work

Well that's good news, I'm glad someone is figuring it out. Any idea when it will be ready or perhaps a link to keep up on the status of the project?
