    Upgrade or Not

I have my Wii at system menu 3.2u. Softmodded long ago using bannerbomb. Should I be looking at upgrading. I want to install priloader to help stop updates as well. Is it necessary to update to a higher system menu and is there a guide to upgrade from 3.2.

Been doing lots of reading but just haven't hit the right thread.

    Thanks

just don't use ninetendo to update you (you ll get 4.3 from online update).
have a look at the softmod any wii guide linked below.
it covers everything and more you want to do.
run it from the beginning, makes sure you get the latest hbc etc.
4.1 is the prefered version to sit on right now.

    good luck

Since I already have the wii softmodded and running games using USB loader GX I am hesitant to mess with it. Are there any benefits to upgrading to 4.1? Does the fact that my Wii is already softmodded make a difference? Having some issues with a few games and this really gets to me.

always forget to say that too.
no need to worry, just install new things over existing stuff.
gx will still run afterwards, i prefer cfg loader or wiiflow, gx always makes trouble and there is no support for it anymore.

also maybe this helps if its only with some specific game
    Problematic Games & solution

run the guide this sets you up perfectly, also get a nand backup if not already done. just make sure everything is there what should be there.

    good luck

4.1 adds little useful stuff, but priiloader should be compatible with 3.2 too, its up to you where to go.

Stay at your current system menu. 3.2 is compatible with most of the homebrew like 4.1 so updating is just optional you won't gain any benefits. Only that you will be able to to move installed VC/WiiWare to your SD Card directly from your Wii.

Alright sounds good. One more question before I get cracking.

I have got homebrew channel already installed. Do I need to start right from the beginning or can I bypass the hackmi, HBC and bootmi steps? Its been so long since I first did the machine I can't remember what my original steps were.

Is there any danger of starting at the beginning with an already modded wii?

Sorry for being a pest just want to avoid a brick.

Follow the 3.1- 4.1 softmod guide by Dogeggs. Just follow the update steps.

    And you're not a pest

dont be afraid of bricking if you stick to the guide you wont. just install new over old stuff.

as you said you have an older hbc on your wii.
start from the beginning and you get a proper fresh hbc which is running on ios58.
but if you run it through bannerbomb or through the hbc is up to you and only makes little difference, make sure you run multimodmanager in the beginning installing ios58
