    Updating SD Card on 3.1u

I have 3.1u currently and have Homebrew installed as well as Backup Launcher. Both work fine as I have been able to run backups. I did install the Neo loader to run NBA Jam, but I get the #001 Error message. It has been quite some time since I have updated anything. Can I just completely wipe my SD card and just add on new revisions, etc.? What would be the easiest way to do this? My SD card is a little out of date in regards to all of the apps, .wads, etc. that I have on it.

I have seen a lot of reviews about 4.2 and 4.3, so I don’t want to go that route. Also, should I skip the disc route and use USB loader? If so, which one do you recommend? I have seen so many tutorials as it seems there is an infinite way to setup the Wii to your liking.

Thanks in advance for all your help. Great community!

    hey there,
maybe you stop by in the introduction section too, and get a set of useful starter links.

if you just want to have a look on newer neogamma versions, look here.
it is really up to you what you want to use or update.
i think the #001 can be fixed by updating your cIOS too (if you don't have a modchip installed aswell). have a look on the Error Index (link below)

when you completly want to roundhousekick your wii to be super duper up to date.
use the softmod any wii guide (link below) you will end up perfectly modded with a proper set of nice tools, loading apps, perfect cIOS/IOS set

i like to have my game collection on one harddrive, no need to stand up and switch discs/burning, getting mad on bad burns etc.
if you decide to go on usb loading use the Fat32 guide (link below)

good luck for your next steps

I guess what I am looking to do is the super duper up to date soft modded Wii. I used the Twilight Hack originally, which is still on there. Am I good with that still? Can I just wipe everything except homebrew channel and then reinstall the Cios? Also, can I have multiple CIOS or do I need multiple?

as you are already hacked, have the hbc there is no need to use one of those exploits again. however it is recommended to install the latest bootmii and hbc, but that can be done by running the hackmii installer from the hbc.
so start the guide, fill your sd with the needed stuff, go to hbc find the hackmii installer and start from there. skipping straight to chapter 2 could be a mistake.
also get a proper nand backup of your wii.

no need to wipe anything except your sd card just back it up and format freshly to Fat32.

in the end you will have a set of the best choice cIOS, have a look on mauifrog's own FAQ to his guide, post #2 or something.
    you'll get cIOS250 rev20, rev17 in slot 249, hermes stuff in 222/223 etc etc

    good luck

(questions to the guide go in the guide's thread)
