Wii - LCD TV Input Lag

    Hi

I'm currently looking to change my TV in the lounge and am seriously considering either of these 2 models :-

    Samsung LE40C650

    Sony KDLEX503

I have recently been made aware of something called Input Lag which apparently occurs on a lot of LCD TV's and can slow down the processing of images whilst playing games.

Does anyoen have either (or both) of the TV's mentioned above, and if so, what are your experiences of playing your Wii through them ?

    Thanks !
    Andrew

My wii is attached to a 42" LG so I don't have either TV but I don't think input lag is that big of issue unless you are talking about cheap or old LCDs. I think most if not all mid to high end LCDs have their own form of gaming mode to combat it. I know my TV does so I've personally never had any issues.

I have An 40" RCA LCD L40FHD41 Model, and have never had a problem with any Lag or any other Issue's.

I Also have an Xbox 360, No Lag Whatsoever....That I've Noticed.
    Works Great!

we got a 32" Sharp LCD TV downstairs that I use now and then without problems.

The game for which it really matters are games like guitar hero (which have an option to combat the lag) where you have to hit the note exactly.

The wii is not HD so you will almost never notice that on a non-hd console.... the 360 or PS3 you will notice this first....

My old Sony TV (32") broke, so I was looking for an LCD TV (actually it is not LED), the first one I tried was Sony KDL40EX700 (It's a much higher series than EX503), it does have game mode, however, the result is not satisfactory for me. One of the Wii Fit Plus game we normally do is the soccer game, I was able to get perfect score on our old TV, but I could not on this new TV, even in the game mode (EX700 has two game modes, I tried both without any luck), so I returned the TV. I was talking to a very knowledgeable salesperson in Bestbuy, He actually recommends me to get the Pasma, I am still doing research at this stage. Most of the other games, I could not see the difference. I guess the reason for the soccer is that it's extremely sensitive to the timing, esp if you are trying to get high scores. Currently we are using an old 37" LCD TV given to us by a friend, this will buy us some time before we have to decide on which TV to get.
