Upgrading 2.2U without going to 4.3

I have been doing softmods with instructions I got fro this forum for around a year now. First of all thanks for everything. I have seen few forums in my life that present such easily understandable instructions. That being said I have a problem and am posting for the first time here. I ran across a wii that has 2.2U on it. I have never done one of these. I have also never done a 4.3 and know that it is a pain from what Ive read. What is the easiest way to upgrade from 2.2 to anything fro 3.2 to 4.2? Can someone direct me to a tutorial or a file that will load off of an sd card? I have wireless internet here so if I have to do it that way, its not a problem.

    thanks in advance guys!

Minor thing: that guide will work only for 3.1 to 4.1 Wiis. To update to 4.1, if you have an unscrubbed disc of NSMB from your region, it can update this Wii to where it needs to be. There are other options as well, best to look here in your particular case.

Correct, apologies on behalf of a fellow staff member --- he helps where he's able to, but generally concentrates on news-related happenings (and does so rather well).

Well I believe I cant use a scrubbed disk because it wont read burnt disked unmodded right? But I can go out and rent New Super Mario Brothers and play in on this wii and it will automatically upgrade to 4.1? That would be great! Am I reading that right?

Yes, you are reading that right. And if you haven't softmodded as yet (obviously) do not accept an ONLINE update --- that will put you @ 4.3 and not a place you want to be. I think you meant "backup" instead of scrubbed there, right? Because as I laid out, you'd need an unscrubbed one.

right but its not modded at all yet. Can I mod it enough just to read the sd card and load dvdx on it so I can burn NSMB? I was actually scared to do anything to be honest. If thats not possible, like I said Ill just go out and rent NSMB. YEp I definitely know not to upgrade to 4.3 as I read that it sucks.

No the main exploit needed to install any software will not be available to you on that system menu version
