When playing from USB the IOS is not used at all. Only the cIOS is used. OP - You need to use a fakesigned IOS to install other IOS with DOP-Mii. Use IOS249 or IOS236...but again this won't fix your loader issue.

Sounds like you have a Drive Issue, or possibly bad rip/iso for certain games.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Again, sorry for the YAT. Lifehacker is lifehacker dot com. I'd post the link, but don't want further engender resentment. Re: my process, however, I believe that all I did was follow the approved tutorial, then I installed USB Loader GX. Was that so bad? I'm still very appreciative for any help and hope that my process, however flawed, doesn't prevent others from sharing insight.

Well, you can select an IOS to use with dop-mii. You need to select IOS249. You need to select it when you are on this screen:

See the part where it says IOS: 36? You can change it using the arrow keys (<- and ->).
Awesome sig picture does not work

Also when you did maufrogs guide you installed cios rev 20 with different base ios on slot 247,248,250.
So 249 can just or should have been left at rev 17....

Plus if you want to install the latest ios - Look in my sig for them packed into wads.......

Thanks to you both. In trying to isolate the variables, it appears that my IOS249 is a stub. I've tried to uninstall it many different ways, but with no luck. I did lots of forum searches and ended up trying all 3 packs listed in Part B of here: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html. Could it be that that's not working because the guide is for 4.2 and I'm on 4.3? Any other sure-fire 249 stub killers?

are you trying to install cios rev 17 again?

    cIOS249[38]-v17.wad

Install this using wad manager using ios 249.

I should have said use cios 250 to install the wad in wad manager....

I did re-install rev 17, and still got the stub, but I'll try again. Thanks a ton.

After I've installed using both cIOS Installer 38r17 and WAD Manager, I've gone into DOP-Mii (using IOS36) and when I choose IOS249, it says "This version is a stub."
Also, when I tried running CFG USB Loader, it stops at the splash screen and says, "IOS249 is a stub."

I saw in Part C6 of http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html, that it was recommended to scroll left to choose "Do not reload IOS" during a 249 install (however, it was referring to cios38rev14 installer--would the same be true for cIOS Installer 38r17?). Anyways, I tried that thinking that somehow, the stub version was being reloaded. Again, I'm on System Menu 4.3, so I don't know if stub removal has changed since this 4.2 guide that I linked above.

How is your linked cIOS249[38]-v17.wad different than the cIOS Installer 38r17 I've used? I will reinstall, and then repost an updated SysCheck log later today.
    Thanks again.

when you go into dopmii it will say that the ios 249 available to download is a stub but in the right hand corner it should say v17.

Its just a different way of installing it and its good for people that dont have a network
