USB Loader GX famous black screen-I promise I searched & read posts--(sysCheck log)
I get a black screen on every game that I load via USB Loader GX. I know that this has been discussed over and over. I've read so many threads that my head is spinning. I followed MauiFrog's 4.3 Softmod guide to get me where I thought I wanted to be. I stupidly spend the time backing up every game before I tried loading one. SysCheck text will follow the list below.
Here's what else I've seen/done/tried:
- Some games go black only, others get me to the Wiimote strap warning, then the "Licensed by Nintendto" screen (ex: Lego Batman goes straight to black, Lego Star Wars Complete Saga goes to to strap screen, then license screen).
- I have run USB Loader GX both from the forwarder on the Wii Menu and from HBC--same results.
- Installed cIOSX rev20 by waninkok from and as described here: FileTrip - cIOS Installer Xr20b
- I have tried multiple combinations of changing the USB Loader's global and game-specific Boot/Standard (IOS 249 and 222 -- interestingly, when I toggled thru and hit IOS 223, I got the message that USB Loader will only run with Hermes CIOS rev. 4, which I don't have. Is that relevant to my issue?)
- Verified that my external HD was listed as Primary (after I backed up all our games to it). I then made it Active, but, again, did this after I had already WBFS-formatted it--don't know if that makes a diff.

Well, first of all, cIOSX rev20b is not recommended here at wiihacks. cIOS38 rev17 is recommended, because it is more stable. Try it to see whether it solves the issue.

Is this Mauifrog's work? If so, let me ask you something: why create YAT (Yet Another Thread), rather than asking in the existing thread? IOS 249 Rev 17 is, indeed the recommended version to use (and it's that way for a reason).

I actually had cIOS38 rev17 installed earlier and had same probs. I have both installers on my HBC. I just re-installed cIOS38 rev17 based on your suggestion. (Is that ok for me to just install it over cIOSX rev20b, or do I need to uninstall something first?)

After cIOS38 rev17 install (of 249, not 36, right?), no change to my USB Loader GX black screen. Any other thoughts?

Sorry for the YAT. There were so many existing threads that I didn't know which one to go with. It seems that some folks got their issue resolved and that was that. Just to be respectful of the posting etiquette, where should I have posted this?

Thank you for the list, but here comes a possibly eye-roll-causing question for you: How am I to use that info? In USB Loader GX, I only have the options to change the Boot IOS to 222, 223, 249, and 250. What am I to do now that I know Lego Batman & Star Wars (Complete Saga) both use IOS33?

I'm so confused. And frustrated. I just wanted to set up a more efficient system for my kids and I feel like I've just wasted hours and hours on this whole process. Sigh.

Just install the IOS that the game needs. Use IOS249 to boot games with USB Loader GX. Trust me, it will work. You can install the IOS using dop-mii by the way.

I installed Dop-Mii (v13-http://code.google.com/p/dop-mii/downloads/list) and tried to install IOS33. Got this error: "Choose an IOS that accepts fake signing..." Thoughts?
