Disc channel is "Unable to read the disc" but NeoGamma loads game ok?

My disc drive on my wii hasnt work for a while but today i decided to load up a real, non-backup gamecube game via the Disc Channel and as usual it cannot read the disc. However, on a whim, i loaded up NeoGamma R8 and hit load and it launched the gamecube game no problem. Can anybody explain this peculiarity? I assume NeoGamma loads up some kind of custom driver for the disc drive and i would like to use that for the Disc Channel also, if possible. Is there a wad i can load? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What softmod guide did you follow? Do you have DARKCORP or cIOSCORP installed?

And please do stop by the into section and introduce yourself.

I used the 3.x-4.1 softmod guide to the letter. I installed the cios that it recommended, wanikokos. I do not have those installed, just followed the tutorial. Thanks for the response.

Please explain what you mean by, "cant read the disk"? Do you get an error or do you just get a black screen?

    This screen:

    Disc Channel:
    "Unable to Read the Disc"
"Check the Wii Operations manual for help troubleshooting"

It will not read it there even though it is a real legit GameCube disc. Even before i touched the Wii with homebrew it was not reading discs in the manner. Now that i have loaded NeoGamma on it i can launch gamecube games through NeoGamma.

Do a Syscheck. Open the syscheck.csv file with WordPad NOT Notepad and paste the results here.

    What is the game BTW?
