Not off to a good start. RAR pack downloading wrong?

I started downloading the RAR file in messies guide. I have tried it several different times also. When it downloads, it is coming up as a Windows Media File. And I have yet to be able to get it to come out right.

My comp does not have a zip file, but I am going to get one of the net.

Obviously I am not computer literate, but I hnoestly have never had this happen before. What am I doing wrong?

Google "winrar" and download the free "trial" as they call it. Dont worry about the trial part as you can use it way after the trial is over. Once you have that downloaded, try downloading that rar file again.

Wait forgot to add...... GO PHILLIES!!!!!!!
If I have helped you in any way, please thank me by pressing the little thanks button.

I would go to THIS WEBSITE search for and download a program called 7-zip. Right click on the .rar file from the download after installing 7-zip and use that to extract the files.

Ok, thanks guys. I finally got it. Also, one thing I was doing wrong was DL'ing it strait to the card, which was creating a folder on the card instead of putting it into the root.

This is definately hard. I am just to the point of copying/deleting Bootmii and the NAND back up. Just not sure when to turn off the wii, take-out/insert SD card, as I don't want to mess anything up.

Yes, that is what I am asking. As in the guide it goes form the deleting off bootmii/NAND to uploading another file. Am I suppose to have multiple SD cards? After every step it seems you have to load another file onto the root of an SD card.

It is confusing, so I am off to read some more.

    thanks

Ok, that is where I am getting confused. I am already formatted to FAT32. Am I re-fromatting to get rid of the files already on it? I have yet to come across that answer yet, but I am still trying to read a lot of the threads. I thought I had a better grasp on it than I did.

    thanks Baat

    Yes delete all files

keep your nand on your pc so you can recover your wii if it ever bricks

(when it says format it just means u have to delete all files on your SD)
press THANKS , it brightens my day
