Convert Metroid Prime Trilogy save game file from PAL to NTSC

So I started playing MPT (and enjoying it) on my Wii (softmod using USBLoader). The game is PAL. I've noticed that if I use the NTSC version of games it looks much better on my NTSC Wii. Only problem is I can't get my PAL save game of MPT to work with the NTSC copy.

Is it possible to convert my save from PAL to NTSC? I'm able to get the PAL save off the Wii with SaveGame Manager but from there I don't know what to do. I've seen people do this with NSMB Wii but the instruction don't seem to collate with the MPT save games.

I'd really love to play the NTSC version but I don't want to have to start over.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

you already found something for that ?

Here was a thread on the forum on that. you would need a hexeditor (WinHex or Hex-Editor mx or similar)

    Link

I also can confirm that changing those letters P to E (in hexeditor) and using the different folder afterwards / or changing the last digits in the folder name from 50 to 45 should do the job.

    hope that helps

    good luck

edit: also if you dont see those folders, there is a pc utilty to unpack the savegame stuff, get it at wiibrew its called FE100

Thank you! I'm making a bit of progress. I think I was stuck needing FE100 as I found a similar tutorial about hex editing. Problem is when I used the savegame manager to extract my PAL save, i get two files: save.bin and banner.bin. FE100 seems to want a file called data.bin, which I dont' have. If I try save.bin it tells me there's a MD5 mismatch so I can't load it.

is it asking for some key.txt file or something or an option to give it to the program? you can get your wii's keyfile with xyzzy (google: xyzzy wii download or something) key extractor app

edit: will write something up later

Thank you again. After I posted my last comment I figured out I need to get the key. I have my bootmii backup nand on my other machine that I can use when I get home. Thank you so much! Don't worry about writing something up for me, I think I got it, just need to get my key. I'll keep you posted!

ok cool yeah its either the key from nand backup or extracted freshly with that app, you can input it then, if needed you can rename the save.bin to data.bin but it should work with either name

Wierd, so I got my nand backup, I run FE100KeyGrabber.exe and when I press Get Stuff From A Savefile button and point to my save.bin, the NG-id field goes blank. Everything else fills out. When I click MAKE ME HAPPY it says "There is fewer or more hex characters in the field NG-id not writing out NG-id file" then says "All file saved successfully". So then I try to unpack the save file, but i still get the MD5 error. What am I missing?
