Need help please. Cannot get Backups to work at all...

I cannot get my backups to work AT ALL. I tried burning Red Steel 2 twice on Verbatim DVD-R, once at x4 and once at x2 speed, on ImgBurn, but both do not work at all. Making sure its not the game only, i tried RE UC with x4 speed, did not work also. I have attemped to run the games on other apps to try to fix my problem. However I have been unsuccessful...

Using both of the RedSteel2 DVD-R games from burning at x4 AND x2 these are the errors i get on the following applications:

    NeoGamma R8, IOS249 (Rev 19) - Disc Read Error (1167)
    NeoGamma R7, IOS249 (Rev 19) - Disc Read Error (1101)
Backup Launcer 0.3 gamma, IOS 249 - Disc Read Error (324)

I get the same errors from both games x4 and x2, but different errors for diffent apps...

From reading the post and topic from this link:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tion-here.html
I have found that the problem could be from a bad burn/bad media. This however SHOULDM'T be the case as I am only burning Verbatim DVD-R, the supposed BEST quality, at x4 and x2, the suggusted rate...

Also from reading the topic, I might have an old Wii Drive Chip.
But from this website: Wii Drive Chip Database
This is what i have discovered...

    Serial number: LU201665XXX
The console has model number RVL-001(USA), produced for the North American market. The copyright year is 2006.

I've been working on this for awhile and no success. Can anybody give any help, thx...

don't get it, did any burned game ever run ? and you successfully softmodded?
database tells you, you have 75% chance you have a D4 chip in it (D3-2 and D4 won't play any backup dvd)

you might want to switch to usb loading (a link below)

all black have the D4 chip (i think) all new ones have either D3-2 or D4
buy a nice usb harddrive, check the usb loading guide for a link to the compability list

all you said indicate you can't run burned dvds, together with your statement, its black and new, yes non way you will be able to run backups from disc

Well thanks for your help, really saved me ALOT more wasted time and hassles. Appreciate it (thanked you.)

One more question, possilby not possible though. Now I have a 2gb SD card and a 2gb flash drive. Both work fine, and both hold there own respective games with NSSB (about .8gb) and MADDEN 11 (about 1.5 gb). Now from this guide: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...g-playing.html it says something from that of "Files over 4GBs need to be Split (Very Easy with Wii Backup or Game Manager)"

Is it possible to take a larger game such as RED STEEL 2 with about 2.85 gb, and so called split it two sources, playing from both the SD card and Flash Drive somehow .

no that won't be possible to split it and distribute on different sources.
that splitting is needed for large games, i mean you will convert your games to .wbfs if the wbfs file is larger than 4Gb you must split it (with game or backup manager) to get it on a fat32 partition in the first place. when splitted the parts go in the folder for that specific game, you would do something like usb:\wbfs\GAMEID\gameid.wbfs1 and gameid.wbfs2, but splitting and folder structure is maintained by the programs
thats the problem with small thumb drives, you always have to swap games to and from if you want to play another one.

sure no prob, glad i could help

usb drives are not that expensive you can buy small (~120+Gb) for 30-40$. also check out the cool coverflow loaders like wiiflow (youtube) or cfg loader. that won't be possible with discs etc. so much easier with usb

    good luck
    cya
