I want to attach an external hard drive to it(that I plan on using for other things as well)

what do I need to install on the wii to play games (my friend gave me some ISO games on a flash drive that I just put on my hard drive)

as well I would like to put some movies on that hard drive so my daughter can watch so kids movies with out scatching DVDs

    any help would be great

    thanks

Follow the softmod any wii guide in my signature and then follow this guide here to set up your hard drive.

Yes you just have to reformat it. Just follow one of the suggested guides.

Be aware, NTFS is less supported and overall perhaps more problematic than FAT32 or WBFS. Very few games once scrubbed via USB Loader GX or similar exceed 4gb. The Western Digital line of 2.5" drives should suit your need.
