    Cool System advice

Okay so i have an original wii - bought it on the launch date

i threw a wiikey in it waay back in the day and that baby has seen some action - so much action in fact that the laser has crapped the bed and wont read any discs - i tried buying a replacement laser and doing the replacement myself but im having serious trouble getting the POT configured correctly blah blah blah....

long story short - im scrapping the optical drive - im mounting a 2.5" HDD in its place and putting the discs in storage

i need advice on what type of loader i should use - im not at all interested in running through the disc channel (unless its easy) but i need a stable loader that doesnt suck and has an easy interface (probably giving the wii to my GF once its fixed)

also with my opti-drive out of the picture im going to need some advice on loading - i have HBC installed, its an old version but i can update and install whatever i need to from there but again i just havent looked at anything in probably a year and need to know what loader is THE TITS right now. (STABILITY IS KING)

any advice would be greatly appreciated and links to install tutorials will earn you theoretical internet money. THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYSSS!!!!!!!

Well, stability depends both on the loader and the (c)IOS used. I myself use USB Loader GX, which has always worked fine for me. I have however heard that people sometimes have issues with it, more so than with other loaders, so if you want to play it safe, you might want to use another loader. Futhermore, I recommend install cIOS249 rev17, if it is not installed already. Maybe you will need to install Hermes cIOS 223 for certain games, but you will need to check that yourself.

Futhermore, I recommend checking wether bootmii is installed as boot2. Turn on the wii and watch the disc drive light. If it flashes once, you need to install bootmii. If it flashes twice, then you already have bootmii installed as boot2. If it doesn't flash at all (because it is broken), you might just try to use a SD card with bootmii on it to see if it loads.
Awesome sig picture does not work
