I even tried renting Super Mario Bros. Wii and RedSteel 2 since they come with 4.1 upgrades. Fortunately I could not find them in any Blockbuster or Rogers video because of all the kids off in the summer. I now realize it would not have solved my problem anyways though thanks to this thread. I wasn't aware that upgrading online would get me 4.3.

Anyways I'll be buying the SD card card and following Dogegg's 3.1-4.1 guide like I should have in the first place.

My experience with the white Wii Sandisk 2GB SD card, I couldn't get it to work with homebrew channel, not one single app showed up in the Homebrew channel. The Blue Sandisk 2GB SD card works fine for homebrew.

But when I did a NAND restore with BootMii, the blue Sandisk SD card wouldn't work, and the white SD card did, lol.

Follow the dogeggs guide, get the good DVDX (3.2 version) installed, then use waninkoko's 4.2 update application.

I use the blue Sandisk SD card and never had any problems.

Yea, that is wierd stomp. I never had issues with either one and used them many times for all tasks mentioned. Perhaps he should get the blue one just to rule out the possibility of such an issue.

There are, but prices are different in Canada due to the fluctuating value of the Canadian dollar. Even though its worth 95% of the US dollar at the moment we still have to pay premium prices.
In the US a Sandisk 2GB SD card is $10 in Canada its $17.

On a personal note, I have been using a Kingston 1gb card that I bought for $8USD 3 1/2 years ago before I did any soft modding, solely to have the the wii LATER, and it works for hackmii and bootmii on my console.

Yeah, I have a 1GB Kingston Micro SD from my cell phone that I use for everything Wii related. But in the case that someone is buying an SD, it is best for them to get the known working card (even if it is 6 dollars more).
    Damn I suck!!!!
