Go with USB loading would be the first thing to do, it is awesome. Check my signature and check out the usb compatibility to see if your hardware is listed. If not, try it anyways, if it works, let them know to add it to the list!

I have in the past instructed folks to use wbfs manager to format the sd card or flash drive and load an .iso onto it. Neogamma can load them and that can tell if it is a softmod or a disk issue.
I have installed games through usbloader gx that run fine. Extracted iso and burned to dvd-r and they wont run. Should I assume that I have one of the newer drives too? Is there any way to tell for sure? I am willing to open it up if that will answer my question........it's way past warranty anyhow!

In most cases the newer consoles have those drive chips that won't allow it. In his case it was sent off to be serviced and they were replacing these to stop piracy, so it is possible. Normally you can look through the wii drivechip database and it will give you some probability percentages, but not much too definitive. If it is a black console it is definite. these drive chips became the mainstay in july or august of last year, but were introduced and used in smaller amounts long before that.

Lu51 wiis should have a drive chip worthy of playing backups, but if they serviced it they might have changed it out. Yes you can open up your wii, look here, and check here as they have a few pics as well to compare with your drive.

There was a link to show the possibility of which Wii has the new dvd drive in it, they just base it off of your serial number... but it wasn't 100% correct either. If you are also usb loading, best to go with that. Just use the drive to rip your games to the hdd. Save the time and money from burning dvds, just my opinion though...

Did you try the sd card loading method yet?

Yes it is off-topic, but it is your thread lol
There are 2 folders named snes9x or something. One is in the apps folder and had a boot.dol
The other is in the root of the sd card and has a roms folder and a saves folder in it.
I will leave it to you to guess where the roms go.

Um i did it some half sass way. I put the was file and then went into the homebrew, then bootmii to install it... So i don't have a boot in my apps section or a file in the root...

Yea that doesn't sound like any method I have ever heard of and I'm not sure which part of the post you are replying to.

I'm speaking of the snes9x... I May have miss stated how i added to my wii... But i have the channel on my wii itself... all i know is i used a wad to install it there.

I tried making folders on my sd /snes9x/roms and other variations but it still failed to load anything... Do you have a link to where i could try and re download it.. ?
