Wink Neogamma transition to external USB HD

    Hi everyone,

I brought my wii today into the shop where they removed my antiquated modchip from 2008 and installed a softmod instead (Neogamma R8 Beta 15). My Wii system is 4.0U.

They also installed homebrew channel but hid it way over in the last page of my channels and told me not to touch it but only to use Neogamma to load games.

I have two small problems so far. One is intermittent black screens when I'm playing (last 1 second, occurs about once per minute, not a big deal). The second one is stuttering audio and video during cutscenes which is a bit annoying. I understand this is because of the 3x read speed instead of 6x.

The only way around this, as I understand it, is to use an external USB HD to load games instead. So, I want to know a way to transition smoothly from using Neogamma to using an external USB HD.

Are there any precautions I should take or special procedures? Do I just follow the guide for using an external USB HD?

I really appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks!

you can also use an sd card or usb thumb drive if you have one.
i would start over by getting the hbc back to your front page (point at it press A+B and drag it to the 1st page) as this is it what you will need a lot in the future
2nd a syscheck would help to understand what has been done to your wii: How to post a syscheck: Instructions here

in your spare time read these guides on usb loading

don't hesitate to ask questions in the threads of the guides

    usb loading with fat32

    |Gen3sf's External USB HDD Guide|

    good luck for now

    edit:
think you will need one of these softmod guides. to get some working cIOS. afterwards you will be able to start an application like wiiflow or usbloadergx both will load games from your harddrive AND can copy the discs you already own to the harddrive too. not a difficult task.

looks like pimp my wii has run on your system. trucha enabled everywhere. you can unpatch them by using Dopmii, like download clean copies and don't apply the patch for your IOS below 200. but this is not nesseccaryly (?) needed.
your cios 222/223/249 look good, you are ready to go and load via usb or sd, neogamma is only one of severyl loaders, check out wiiflow, maybe on youtube, i like that the most with its cool coverflow abilities.
    good luck

edit: i ve a wiikey1 installed but never used it again after havin similar problems with newer games. usb loading is so much more fun without the need to burn hundreds of discs. you ll enjoy it

user has cioscorp installed, this lets you play back up games through disc channel..it is not recommended for a user that didnt read the readme or doesnt know anything about it...

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...i-console.html

also seems the person that modded your wii followed a guide of wiihacks.(v54321)=mauifrog

so all you need to do is set up your hdd and chose a loader you want to use to usb load your games...

I think that since I won't use cioscorp I should probably just leave it alone if it won't cause any problems on it's own. Otherwise I might cause more harm by trying to remove it as I am rather novice.

So basically my Wii is ready for External USB HD as soon as I install a loader? It's safe to go ahead and install USBLoaderGX or Wiiflow or whatever?

    Thanks.

evrything is safe. just look into the loading guides from above. you will drop those apps to your sd card or on your harddrive so you won't install anything on your for now = no harm to your wii
