    Audio issues

    Hey guys,

I'm looking to mod my 4.3u (yuck i know). My wii is roughly 3 months old. Recently it froze up on me during Hp ages 1-4 and since then whenever deep bass hits on Twilight princess or Olympics games the sounds crackles too. What I'm wondering is, does audio come from a IOS or does a IOS control it? I've planned on using my warranty to have N fix it, but I'm thinking if I mod and the audio issue is just a corrupt IOS then theoretically softmodding may fix it? Sorry if this ? is off the wall, but I'm really eager to mod and I'd like to keep my wii if at all possible.

You sure it isn't the TV you have it connected too? Or possible a subpar connection will make alot of noise also...

I don't know of an IOS that would cause an issue like that. I would hook it to a different TV and see if you still have the problem. If you do then I suggest you have it repaired or replaced under warranty. If you softmod and need to send it back, then Nintendo will charge you an arm and a leg to fix it as the warranty will be voided.

Yes I'm sure it's not cable related. I've used both av/hd cables with the same affect, likewise I can hear it on two different tv's. Only difference between the two is how loud one can reproduce the sound. Thanks Kraft on the insight, I'll go ahead and send it in to N then let my modding urges go nuts once I get her back =). Thanks for the replies.

Gah, ok so based on desperado's idea I gave it some more thought. Yes I tried 2 tv's, yes I tried 2 different cable types. What didn't I check? The brand new Y adapter I bought so I can send sound to my DVD/Home theatre and PC. I guess I've been had by the "man in the middle" =\ Anyways thanks desperado for making me re-think my plan, likewise thanks kraft for making me rethink modding and possibly sending to N = bad idea. I'm now free to run mauifrogs guide as soon as I get a rental of Lego Indy. Again guys thanks for helping me think outside the box a little =)
