    Disc update removal

Hey guys, I'm a complete noob about the wii homebrew scene so these might be stupid questions but I've been reading and I can't seem to find the anwers I'm looking for. I was gonna post my system check thing but can't even seem to do that. The problem is my brother had the wii softmoded and all the homebrew and other channels seem to be on the wii memory itself not on the sd card. Like when I put the wii's sd card in my pc all I see is a folder called wiiflow and nothing else no apps or other folders. Here's a bit info that I got from the wii itself.

    wii version 4.2U, wiiflow v1.1 r20 ios249 rev 1 4, homebrew 1.0.5 ios 81 v21.29, neogamma r8 beta 15, ios249 (rev 14), uloader (??), usb loader gx(??)

We use wiiflow to play are games from the usb but now games are asking for updates and from reading everyone says no to update or its gonna brick the wii. How do I make the games skip the disc update? Do I need to install the new versions of homebrew and wiiflow and neogamma? I don't have preloader or priiloader installed from what i can tell, little help would be nice thanks.

Priiloader will take care of disc and online updates with a properly configured hacks.ini file.

That should take care of THAT!

you can also use wiiscrubber to remove the update partition from a game iso save it as a scrubbed iso version and burn that/drop it to your hdd, but with priiloader and the update hacks set up they shouldn't appear anymore.
also for a syscheck do this: How to post a syscheck: Instructions here

I downloaded priiloader 0.4 (rev78), now like I said there's nothing in my sd card other than that wiiflow folder so do I create a apps folder then place the extract of the priiloader zip file into it? I also read the readme file of the priiloader and I have no idea what they are saying stuff liker "certs.bin". Can you guys just go like step by step for me with as much detail please.

    here is what you need
    Install Priiloader

edit: and basically yes. extract, look inside, if there is an app folder, copy to root of sd card. if there is a priiloader folder copy that in a fresh app folder on your sd card.
get a working hacks.ini. just drop a new textfile (make sure you can see file extensions ->folder options), put hacks.ini code inside it according to the guide and save then rename it to hacks.ini, drop that in the root of your sd card.
run hbc, run priiloader installer. everything done? congrats you now have priiloader installed. try it by turning off your wii, press power and quickly afterwards the reset button (hold down) priiloader will load and you can access systemhacks once adjusted and saved the hacks will be written to the wii so no need to have the hacks ini or the install folder on the sd anymore.
good luck with it, stick to the guide

Hey thanks again for the quick replay ok here's where it gets murky for me, I got the hacks.ini file from: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...e-0-4-r78.html, the file: "Hacks.ini all" so it says to edit the file which I did, then it says Edit text file, use lines with 449 for 4.1U, 450 for 4.1E, 481 for 4.2U, and 482 for 4.2E, my wii is 4.2U so i'm supposed to edit like 481? but what do I do am I supposed to delete it, just keep that line, how do I even find line 481?

edit:it is supposed to be an sysmenu/regionfree hacks.ini with only little to adjust. i always go from here,
there you would also find the link to the hacks.ini and what you can put into fitting your sysmenu

ok let me see if I got this right, I copy pasted the line that you gave me into notepad and the renamed it to hacks.ini, now transfer the hacks.ini file into the root of the sd card, now for the priiloader do i have to created a folder called apps in the root of the sd card and then extract it there? After that run hbc and run priiloader?

    sounds good.
sd:\apps\priiloader -> stuff in there boot.dol icon bla etc. (just need to check everything is there)
    sd:\hacks.ini

go to hbc. priiloader installer app will show up like "Priiloader" in fire and flames or something looks the icon like

nice almost done here last question I think lol, when I extracted the priiloader zip there's two folders inside one called "extra": (loadPriiloader, priiloader, wiiload) and the other folder "priiloader": (boot.dol, icon, META) do I copy both folders to my apps folder or just the priiloader one?
