USB Device Not Recognized - Windows XP SP3

Not sure if this is the correct forum or not, but I recently took my HDD to a friend's house along with my Wii and it worked fine and dandy there. When I got home I tried to plug it in to my desktop PC and it kept clicking a lot. I did chkdsk /r on it and it fixed a bunch of bad sectors or what it said were bad sectors and after that when I plug it into my PC it tells me that the "USB device is not recognized." So I can't view it in Windows Explorer or WBFS. I had it formatted partially to WBFS and partially to Fat 32. It's a Maxtor Personal Storage 3200. Any ideas/suggestions? How do I fix this? Thanks for any help.

chkdsk may have killed the WBFS partition, Windows cannont read the WBFS partition, so any "fix" type tools could kill it.

Well it doesn't show up in Disk Management or My Computer so I'm not sure how I can possibly format it. Is there a way to do that? As that should, in theory, solve the problem, right?

Try Easeus partition manager to see if it recognizes the HD (Fat32 guide in my signature).

Your drive might be shot. Clicking is not a good sign.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Krank's correct as usual --- google "click of death" and you'd see it ain't a good sign or symptom.

Okay thanks I will try that. Interestingly ever since I ran chkdsk it hasn't clicked at all, but that could be because it can't even recognize it. I did get it to show up in Disk Management briefly, but it locked up until I disconnected the drive. My friend suggested to try to remove the drive and hook it up as IDE but the enclosure doesn't seem to be openable unless I break it.

Tried it, times out w/o recognizing drive. It recognizes the drive if I pull the USB or power, but if I do that then plug it back in and proceed it gives an error when I try to apply the changes. Guess the drive is toast, sigh.
