    Bunch of problems after softmoding.

So I softmodded a freshly bought Wii using this tutorial step-by-step (except I skipped the Step 4 and left the original 4.0E version): http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html and a bunch of questions arose. If anyone cam at least answer one of them, I would be really thankful.
    Questions:

    1) I kinda deleted a channel called "Wii and the Internet", this won't cause any problems in the future, right? I am not planning to use internet features anyway.

    2) Is it possible to play games straight from the SD card? I copied Castlevania ReBirth to SD card from internal memory and it gave me some error while in the internal memory it worked fine.

    3) I tried running Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility back up on Neogamma (the back up was burned using Imgburn, 4x speed on Verbatim DVD-R) and it gives Disc Read Error 1167. I read that this problem might be caused by dirty lense or dirty disc, but the disc and the Wii are brand new. Also I have read that some new Wii's won't read back ups, but this one was manufactured in 2008 and doesn't even have the motion plus thingy. And if it's a lost cause is it possible to run a back up from an SD card?

I guess that will be all. Thank you in advance.

1- I wonīt cause other problems.

2-Iīm not sure if you can play wii games trough the sd card, but I think itīs possible.

3- Have u played other backup games in that wii? The motion plus doesnīt have anything to do with it.

    I hope that was useful

    1) I'm not sure what "Wii Channel" you're talking about, but deleting the Internet Channel will not cause any issues.

    2) Have you tried removing unnecessary [softmod] files from the SD card? There may be a folder in there, "Private" with a subfolder, "atkn" if I remember correctly.

    3) Consoles released around Q4 2008 have been manufactured with new DVD drives that do not read backup disc.

Since you're new here, I suggest you go here and familiarize yourself with all the softmodding and FAQ guides we have here.

    -Wii Menu 4.2U / DARKCORP v1.1 / BootMii as boot2 / Preloader v0.30-
    -USB HDD / Wiiflow 2.0 / Triiforce / VC Image-Pack / cIOS Wads-

Thank you for answering the first one guys - internet channel took about 1500 block so I really won't miss it.

Not running wiiware games from SD card I can live without I guess. I deleted the afk folder yesterday, because it would crash SD card menu completely. But no matter how hard I look I still can't find a tutorial how to run a decent (disc based) Wii game from an SD card.

And holy hell - I hope I didn''t get one of those newer Wiis. I checked the console and the box but there doesn't seem to be a precise manufacturing date anywhere. I'm actually begging to lose hope here =/

You can still run WiiWare and VC titles from your SD card, you can check out the Triiforce link in my sig. There are other methods of launching your backups, the most popular method being from an external HDD -- if you're curious to find out, take a look at gen3sf's guide.

    Check here Wiidrives

To play ISO's from SD card would be the same as a USB Device (Format to WBFS, use WBFS manager to transfer your games).

Or check out the FAT32 loading guide in my signature.
    Damn I suck!!!!

My card is SDHC actually. But thank you for the links - I will definitely use those later as I get accustomed to all those CIos/Ios term thingies in my Wii. I do not won an external HDD as of yet. (Just recently bought 1TB internal)

I checked with the Wii Drive Chip Database and it says:
The console has model number RVL-001(EUR), produced for the European market.
There is a 100% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.

But I have no idea what that means (feel free to call me retarded if you wish). English in not my native language (as you can guess already), and although I almost got a degree in English Philology I'm kind lost when stuff revolves around technical terms and hardware.

I formated 16 GB Kingston SDHC card with WBFS Manager 3.0 and put in Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility (US-NTSC). Tried launching it with Neogamma R8 Rev17 and it now gives me "Connection to WBFS Lost" error. I see that people are having same problems but I can't find the solution for it.
