Wii pressed discs generally won't read on the PC (a few old LG drives can read'em tho). This is intentional, as it's a proprietary format designed for the Wii (the disc structure and so forth). Everyone's Wii will say "Made in 2007" or whatever. I somehow doubt that's the exact error code that Neo Gamma gives you. How old is your Wii? If you're trying to play via disc backup and you bought it a year ago or less, it won't be possible that way --- but you can still play backups via USB HD.

Most likely D3-2 (meaning it won't play DVD backups) --- have a look here.

Keep in mind, if you're that desperate you can buy an older drive via Fleabay and do a straight swap out (what I did, even though I got a 500gb USB HD). You'll need a triwing screwdriver (also Fleabay) and follow Shadow Sonic's wii disassembly guide.
