Need help to update cios from r14 to r19 or r20

Hi I recently softmodded my wii 4.2e by following messie's guide
''Full hacking guide for 4.2 system menus!!!!" and I've been told that I should update my[COLOR=rgb(0, 0, 0)]"cIOS249rev14" to r19 or r20. I've tried looking around the site hoping to find some help on it, but either my searching methods are crap or there is nothing on how to do the update.. Im more the certain it has to do with my shameful searching lol...

please if anyone can point me to the right guide, it would be most helpful.

    Thanks in Advance

You can find the cIOSx Rev 19 install guide in the OPTIONAL section of the FAT32 guide in my signature. Although, I recommend updating to cIOS38 Rev 17. To do this just follow step 5 of shadowsonic2's softmod for ANY 4.2 Wii.

No that is not needed. Read about Rev 17 , Rev 19 and Rev 20 and decide which one you want. Then follow the instructions to run that particular installer.

I would recommend rev 17. If a person doesn't know how to even install a Cios, I would not recommend using Rev 19 or 20.

see this is all confusing to me. I have completed every step in [Full hacking guide for 4.2 system menus!!!!] http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/24630-full-hacking-guide-4-2-system-menus.html
    I have also completed [Install IOS 202, 222, 223, 224] http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...222-223-a.html
including Hermes cIOS v4, Hermes cIOS v5 and Hermes cIOS v5.1

at the moment I am looking at ShadowSonic2 guide onSoftmod for ANY 4.2 Wii! so I can update to cIOS249-rev17 but dnt know where to start from, because from what I can see I have done most of the steps. so basically Im not sure where to start from on ShadowSonic2 guide onSoftmod for ANY 4.2 Wii!

Download the pack and do ONLY Step 5 of the guide. Use IOS249 for install instead of what it says in the guide (IOS36).

    Choose IOS36 and press A
You would Choose IOS249 and Press A

    Thanks install was successful

you mentioned a few posts up, that I should "Read about Rev 17 , Rev 19 and Rev 20 and decide which one you want." If I wanted to know what each cios does or compare i.e r17 vs r20 were would I find this info.

    THANKS

    EDIT***********
Ok well I know of one reason why I want to update to either
cIOSX Rev19 or Rev 20. I want to follow the guide ''FAT32 Hard Drives - Formatting, Loading, Ripping, Playing'' and also just to be able to delete my old usb loader gx channel and install the latest Usb Loader GX r938 prefferably the forwarder, but to update to r938 I either need r19 or r20.

You can search here in the FAQ submited guides/tutorial section, also GBA temp has plenty of information with the advantages/disadvantages of the newer revs. Rev 17 is still the most recommended here. It gets the job done, is compatable with most all games/apps/and loaders, and not a complicated install. The newer revs allow for installing using a different base ios, similiar to Hermes if you did that, and can be a little complicated and or problematic, if not installed properly.

Read Krank/Cile's guide for fat32 formatted HDD. That is the way to go, also CFG usb loader is far superior to GX. Krank has a guide for that in his signature also. If you have any questions or issues along the way, post in the appropriate thread for said guide.
