    Monster Hunter Tri/Zelda: Twilight Princess

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've been on here. Just as I was getting into using my wii, Uncle Sam decided I should go to Iraq lol. In any case, a buddy of mine got me into this whole Homebrew/NeoGamma thing to play burnt discs. I followed this guide to rollback from 4.3 to 4.2 and install Homebrew, etc. :

    The 4.3 Softmod Guide

Since it was made so that even an idiot could figure it out, I succeeded lol. Unfortunately, I have not been able to launch Monster Hunter Tri or Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess using NeoGamma. They have slightly different issues, however. Monster Hunter lets me into the game, but when I start a new game, the screen goes black and an annoying sound is emitted from my speakers. With Zelda, it just says there is no DVD in the drive. BTW, I do use -R DVDs, just in case.

So anyways, I have been reading around and doing some research. I found many suggestions to upgrade to cIOS 249 Rev 19 (currently on Rev 17). I found the zip file, and it comes with a few text documents and a cIOSX_rev19-Installer.dol. I cannot figure out for the life of me how to do the upgrade. A lot of youtube videos show brief tutorials but it seems like in all of them, the installer appears in the Homebrew channel. This is not the case for me.

Any help or perhaps link to a guide for this upgrade would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You don't need cIOS-X Rev 19 to play MH3, you need Hermes IOS 222 and we have a guide for this title. A good thread to bookmark on Problematic Games can be found here. Issues with a specific game that has a guide need to be asked within said guide/thread. MH3 is quite well-known; you didn't elaborate as to your Zelda issues.

Thank you for the information on Monster Hunter. Apologies on my failure to elaborate for the Zelda issue. When I try to launch it via the NeoGamma channel, it just tells me there is no disc inserted.

Ok, so I got MH3 to work by updating to cIOS249 Rev 19, but I had to change the base to 37. Any possible issues with changing the base IOS? I'm not sure exactly how all this works.

P.S.: I didn't go with the Hermes option because I like NeoGamma.

Gotta be careful about what base you choose; cIOS-X is recommended for advanced users, not for folks who say "I'm not sure" after the fact. That being said, you might have a look here.
